Abstract

Aliskiren inhibited atherosclerosis development and improved plaque stability alone and in combination with atorvastatin, possibly via a mechanism involving T cells.

These results suggest a potential benefit of using aliskiren in a clinical setting, particularly in combination with statin treatment.
